Uses of Yasmin pills

Yasmin pills are used for contraception, as they contain Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol, which prevent pregnancy by:

• Increasing the thickness of cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus and fertilize the egg.

• Preventing the release of an egg from the ovary.

• Reducing the thickness of the uterine lining, preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg.

How to Use Yasmin birth control pills 

• The first cycle of YASMIN pills begins on the first day of menstruation from the silver section of the pack by selecting the tablet corresponding to the day of the week (e.g., "MO" for Monday).

• The tablet should be swallowed whole with some liquid.

• Then, one tablet should be taken daily for 28 days, following the arrows on the pack.

• The timing of the daily dose does not matter, but once a specific time is chosen, the pill should be taken at the same time every day.

• Withdrawal bleeding usually starts on the second or third day after starting the hormone-free white-coated tablets and may not end before starting the next pack.

• Each subsequent pack should be started on the day following the last pill of the current pack.

Contraindications for Yasmin Birth Control Pills

Consult a doctor before taking Yasmin if you have any of the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity to active ingredients or any other components of the drug.

• History or current case of venous or arterial blood clots.

• Severe liver diseases or liver tumors.
