Regaine For Men Extra Strength Scalp Foam 5% 73Ml

Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Foam is a topical medication containing 5% minoxidil. It is a prescription-free formulation (foam) designed to treat male pattern (hereditary) hair loss. Minoxidil stimulates blood flow to hair follicles, which can help regrow hair and stabilize thinning in men.

Ingredients of Regaine Foam

• The active substance is minoxidil: Each gram of cutaneous foam contains 50 mg of minoxidil (5 % w/w).

• The other ingredients are ethanol anhydrous, purified water,butylhydroxytoluene (E321), lactic acid, citric acid anhydrous, glycerol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60 and propane/ butane/isobutane (propellant).

Uses of Regaine Foam

Minoxidil for men is FDA-approved for the treatment of hereditary hair loss in men 18 years and older to help reverse the progression of hair loss on the scalp.

How is Regaine Foam used? 

Regaine Foam should be applied twice daily, morning and evening. The typical dosing steps are:

1. Preparation: Ensure the scalp and hair are clean and completely dry before application.
   
   

2. Apply to scalp: Using your fingers, gently massage the foam into the thinning areas of the scalp. Be careful to use the foam only on the scalp – do not apply to eyebrows, beard or other body hair.
   
   

3. Dosing schedule: Repeat the above steps twice daily (morning and evening), using no more than 1 g per application and no more than 2 g per day. Maintain at least 12 hours between doses. Do not exceed one capful per day. (Using more foam will not speed up hair growth and only increase side effects.)
   
   

Patients should continue treatment for at least 4 months before expecting visible results. If there is no improvement after 4 months of correct use, consult a doctor or pharmacist. If hair regrows, continued daily use is needed to maintain it; stopping treatment typically causes hair loss to resume within a few months.

Side Effects of Regaine Foam

Like all medications, Regaine Foam can cause side effects in some users. Many effects are mild and temporary.

Serious (seek immediate medical help): 

Stop using and see a doctor if you experience:

• swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat (sign of a severe allergic reaction)

• difficulty breathing

• chest pain

• irregular/fast heartbeat

• faintness or dizziness

• persistent scalp rash or redness

• Sudden, unexplained weight gain

Common (may affect up to 1 in 10): 

• Headache

• itchy scalp or scalp rash

•  shortness of breath

• unwanted hair growth on areas other than the scalp (for example on the face in women).
  
  

Other possible effects (unknown frequency):

•  Eye irritation

• Vomiting

• temporary shedding of scalp hair (usually in first 2–6 weeks, indicating new growth cycle)

•  changes in hair color or texture

•  local scalp reactions (dryness, redness, scaling or dermatitis, which can sometimes blister or ulcerate). 

• The foam’s alcohol content may cause a stinging or burning sensation on sensitive or damaged skin.

If you experience any side-effects talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed.

Warnings and Precautions

• Consult your doctor before use if you have heart conditions (e.g., irregular heartbeat, chest pain, circulation problems).
  
  

• Initial hair shedding may occur in the first 2–6 weeks (a sign the product is working). If it continues, stop use and consult a doctor.
  
  

• Accidental ingestion can cause serious heart problems — keep away from children.
  
  

• Avoid applying to areas other than the scalp to prevent unwanted hair growth; rinse immediately if that happens.
  
  

You should not use Regaine Foam if:

• If you are under the age of 18 or over the age of 49.

• If you have ever had a bad reaction to minoxidil or any of the other ingredients.

• If you have hair loss caused by drug treatment.

• If you have total baldness or complete loss of all body hair.

• The pattern of your hair loss differs from a receding hair line and crown balding.

• you have no family history of hair loss.

• your hair loss is sudden and/or patchy.

• you do not know the reason for your hair loss

• your scalp is inflamed, infected, irritated or painful.

• If you have high blood pressure, even if it is not being treated.

Regaine Foam for Pregnancy and Breast-feeding

Regaine For Men is not indicated for women at all. If a woman (especially if pregnant or nursing) is exposed to this product, discontinue use. Minoxidil can be absorbed through the scalp and may affect a developing fetus or nursing infant. It is not recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or when trying to conceive. Women should use alternative treatments approved for female use.

Regaine Foam Interactions

There are no known major interactions between topical minoxidil and other oral medications, since systemic absorption is minimal (about 1–2% of applied dose). However, do not use Regaine Foam simultaneously with other topical scalp medications or ointments, as combinations have not been studied. (Using two products together could increase skin irritation or interfere with absorption.) 

Always inform your doctor of all medicines you take; use caution if you are on blood pressure medications (combined vasodilatory effects) or have any unusual reactions.

Medication Storage and Preservation

• Keep it below 25°C and away from heat sources, sunlight and open flames. 

• Do not freeze. This is a pressurized, extremely flammable aerosol – do not puncture or incinerate the can, even when empty.
