Optilone Eye Drops contain the active ingredient Fluorometholone, a corticosteroid compound that helps relieve inflammation in the eye.

Optilone eye drop uses

Optilone is used to treat steroid-responsive inflammation of the conjunctiva, cornea, or the anterior segment of the eye.

Optilone eye drops dosage

  • The usual dose is 1–2 drops in the affected eye, 2–4 times daily.

  • Your doctor may increase the dosage during the first 24–48 hours to 2 drops every hour.

  • Optilone should not be used in children under 2 years of age.

Side Effects of Optilone Eye Drops

Possible side effects may include:

  • Increased intraocular pressure.

  • Blurred vision.

  • Eye itching.

  • Eye irritation.

Contraindications of Optilone Eye Drops

Do not use Optilone in cases of:

  • Acute superficial herpes simplex keratitis.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Do not use the drops for more than 10 days unless under strict medical supervision.
