Composition of Lotemax Gel

Lotemax Gel contains the active ingredient Loteprednol, a corticosteroid that helps reduce eye inflammation and pain.

What is Lotemax eye gel used for?

Relief of eye inflammation following ocular surgery.

Dosage of Lotemax Eye Gel

The usual dose is 1–2 drops in each eye, 4 times daily, beginning the day after surgery and continuing for up to 2 weeks, or as directed by the physician.

Lotemax Gel Side Effects

Lotemax Gel may cause some side effects, such as:

  • Eye pain.

  • Sensation of a foreign body in the eye.

  • Dry eyes.

  • Eye discomfort.

Lotemax Contraindications

Do not use Lotemax Eye Gel in cases of:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

  • Eye diseases caused by viral infections, such as herpes.

  • Eye conditions resulting from fungal or mycobacterial infections.

  • Breastfeeding.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma before using Lotemax.

  • Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision, increased pain, redness, or irritation, or if symptoms do not improve within 2 days.

  • Do not use Lotemax for more than 10 days without monitoring intraocular pressure.

  • Avoid wearing contact lenses while using Lotemax.
