Isoptin is a medication used to treat high blood pressure, angina pectoris, and to lower elevated heart rates. It works by relaxing blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure and easing the heart's workload in pumping blood.

Composition of Isoptin

Isoptin contains the active ingredient verapamil hydrochloride, which helps reduce high blood pressure by preventing calcium entry into the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, inhibiting contraction and promoting vessel relaxation, thereby reducing blood pressure.

It inhibits calcium influx into the cells responsible for electrical conduction in the heart, reducing heart rate and improving efficiency in pumping blood, making it suitable for patients with angina.
